Paytm (One 97 Communications Limited) has partnered with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to deploy over 400 All-In-One EDC Devices for property tax collection, the company announced today.
The shares of Paytm (One 97 Communications Limited) were trading at ₹818.50, up by ₹17.40 or 2.17 per cent on the NSE today at 12.42 pm.
The card machines, installed at collection centres and used for door-to-door service, allow Hyderabad residents to pay property taxes using credit cards, debit cards, and QR codes. These devices are integrated with the GHMC app, enabling officials to check pending dues, process payments instantly, and generate on-the-spot confirmation slips.
GHMC typically collects ₹5-7 crore in property tax monthly, with collections increasing to ₹22 crore during mid-year and fiscal year-end periods. The new system aims to streamline the collection process by reducing delays associated with cash, cheques, and demand drafts that require manual processing and bank clearances.
A Paytm spokesperson stated that the partnership focuses on making property tax payments simpler and more efficient for both citizens and municipal authorities, while a GHMC representative emphasized their commitment to enhancing convenience for residents through digital transformation.
Paytm continues to develop new features based on customer needs, including UPI statement downloads, UPI Trading Blocks for direct stock trade payments, and a ‘Receive Money QR Widget’ for instant payments. The company has also expanded its UPI payment services internationally to countries including the UAE, Singapore, France, and Nepal.
