Shashi Tharoor launches Muthoot Business School in Kochi

The Muthoot Group has announced the launch of Muthoot Business School (MBS) at Kochi.

The institution was launched by Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor in the presence of Group leadership and academic dignitaries.

The launch of MBS is an extension of Muthoot Group’s founding vision: to empower lives by building institutions of trust. Rooted in this ethos, MBS has been conceptualised as a future-first management school with academic excellence, corporate relevance and global exposure, the company said in a release.

Shashi Tharoor lauded the Muthoot Group’s visionary step into education and called for business leaders who are ethical, empathetic, and globally minded. He praised MBS for blending academic excellence with real-world exposure through its Work-Integrated Learning model, Pre-PGDM internships, and focus on cutting-edge fields like AI and Blockchain. He noted that the institution is uniquely positioned to produce leaders equipped for an evolving global landscape.

Highlighting the shifting role of business in society, Tharoor emphasised that “today’s enterprises must prioritise values alongside value.” Citing Mahatma Gandhi’s caution against “commerce without morality,” he urged the corporate world to lead with conscience and sustainability. To the inaugural batch of students, he offered a powerful message: “You are not just being prepared for the market — you are being equipped to shape society.
